Let’s face it; an e cigarette would be nothing without E-liquid. E-liquid is the juice that we vape through our e cigarette, and is the key ingredient that makes vaping such a wonderful alternative to tobacco.
No matter what type of electronic cigarette you are using, whether it be a “cig-a-like”, or the most advanced rebuild-able atomizer and/or mod in the world, one thing will always remain the same, and that is that we all need juice! So just what is it, and where does it come from?
E-liquid is composed of a mixture of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, nicotine and flavourings. There are many variations and ratios but all E-liquid consists of these main ingredients.
The first E-liquid was invented in 2004 by Jide Yao in China. Jide Yao has a medical background and is regarded by many to be the “godfather” of E-liquid. He spent many years, and millions of dollars developing E-liquid as a viable alternative to smoking He is also the creator of RY4, the most popular selling flavoured E-liquid in the world.
Mr Yao went on to establish Hangsen, the biggest and the first E-liquid company in the world. Hangsen now provide tens of millions of customers (including us here at SmokShop) with a massive range of E-liquid flavours such as RY4, Tobacco, Menthol and Menthol Tobacco flavoured E-liquids.
Hangsen have become a household name in the electronic cigarette industry, and are known for their low priced, high quality products. Since their inception Hangsen have spurred thousands of other companies into making their own versions of E-liquid, and many have been very successful in doing so.
The flavour choice of E-liquid has literally exploded in recent years, offering customers a massive variety of tobacco, menthol, fruit and even dessert and sweet style vapes that we at Smokshop cannot get enough of! All of this flavour variety means that you are less likely to return to smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes, and also help us to distinguish an alternative to smoking , which after all was Mr Yaos main goal.
E-Liquid Flavours
A question we get asked a lot is why some flavours taste just like the name on the bottle, and why other flavours do not. What you need to understand is that all the E-liquids are only trying to replicate, or get a close approximation of the flavour printed on the label. While some are easy to replicate there is also those that are not. This can give you some very different results from a slightly chemical taste, to a lack of overall flavour intensity, and in some rare cases nothing at all like the flavour you expected.
You should bear in mind though that this only affects a very small percentage of E-liquids. Most flavours taste like the product they are replicating and in some cases are almost indistinguishable from the original.
Everyone has their own favourite flavour, and generally when people find the flavour they like best, they tend to stick with it. One of the most popular flavoured E liquids on our website is the menthol flavour, and another very popular is the straight tobacco flavour British. But diversity is the spice of life, and there are plenty to choose from if you feel daring.
We would love to hear about your favourite E-liquids. Do you prefer a traditional tobacco flavour, or do you like the freshness of the menthol flavour? Or, do you like some of the more sweet and fruity flavours? Let us know in the comments section. We would love to hear about it!
